Sustainability

Raspberry Point Oysters Co. believe in securing the future for generations to come. In being responsible in sourcing our suppliers and preserving our environment. Although we are at the start of our journey, we are actively working towards key Sustainable Development Goals for our stakeholders and are committed to the Canadian Net Zero Challenge for 2050.

Economic

Our most important success factor is our employees, and we invest in their development and well being, with seasonal staff returning year after year to join our family.  By supporting local oyster farmers, we help stabilise the local economy and provide longevity within the industry.

Environmental

Through collaboration with the Department of Fisheries and other third parties Raspberry Point Oysters is committed to continuously assess and minimize our environmental impact and help reduce invasive species.  We organize shore clear ups to help preserve our coastline and protect our marine life, whilst in the water our oysters are natures purifiers, removing nitrogen from the water and providing cleaner safer water for the planet’s future.  Raspberry Point supports our hard workers by providing car shares to help save costs and reduce our emission’s. Wherever possible we use secondary raw materials to aid the circular economy and are closing in on our target to have 100% recyclable packaging.

Social

The health and safety of our staff is of particular importance to us and is outlined in our Health and Safety Policy which states our ongoing commitment. Furthermore, we want to achieve a high level of diversity and are proactive within our recruitment strategy, succession, and talent management, to achieve our ambitious targets.  We recognise the importance of a work – life balance, and that without our amazing employees we could not continue to grow.  Raspberry Point is dedicated to fair pay, career development and excellent working conditions; ensuring that staff have full access to support and plenty of time for family and friends.

Our islanders well being is paramount, and we are proud sponsors in all aspects of our community from education, health care and well being.
